Reading backwards

When we write anything, often blind to our own eyes can not find an error, because we have been speaking the wrong brain words as correct. In order to break this mentality, you can read backwards, sentence by sentence.

Wrote on paper

People read the paper and read on the screen is not the same, so print out a copy of the article. If you read it out loud. You may find the eye did not find the error.

Intention is the key

Whether you write magazine articlew, newspaper essays, or e-mail to customers, no spelling error is a basic requirement. Spell check can help you, but that is not enough too. Consequently, there is need for proofreading. If you do not want to make mistake, it should concentrate. That is the temptation to eliminate the outside world and potential interuptions. Turn off cell phones, closed down television and radio, from e-mail.

Another tip is to read your paper starting from the end towards the beginning, it will help to break the familiarity with the content and be able to find more error. I hope you enjoy it.

Proofreading is part of the writing process. For example, when you applied for a job, you have to make sure your resume is 100% correct, so the first thing you do is proofread it or ask somebody to read it for you, and when you are sure it is totally free of error then you submit it. Following is a link to a website with some grammar and factsheets mentioning some common mistakes we should look for when proofreading. I hope you find it useful.
